Bridges…certainly knows what’s what in the current pop landscape ... [Gone is] reminiscent of early Lorde in its darkness…Bridges has spoken about trying to give every song of hers a good hook, and ideally many of them.
So far, she’s sticking to her word.”

Bridges is currently one of NZ music's best kept secrets, with the quickly up and coming female fronted indie-pop band already bringing over 100 attendees to their headline EP release show at Big Fan in December 2023, and 80+ to their single release show in December 2024. The 4-piece live band is high energy, weaving introspective songwriting with walls of guitars, massive drums, and hook-laden melodies.

After opening for Aussie breakthrough act Teenage Dads in 2023 at Auckland's Tuning Fork, Bridges released their debut EP, which was met with acclaim and featured on MTV, Coup de Main, The Hits, Radio Hauraki's Locals Only Podcast, Billie Magazine, and RNZ.

Tracks from the EP have been playlisted on Radio One, The Most FM, Radio Burgerfuel, and more, with NZOA-funded singles ‘Pills’ and ‘Misfits’ quickly gained traction; ‘Pills’ being playlisted on Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds Pop’ (200k), ‘The Local List Aotearoa’ (18k) and ‘Fresh Finds AU & NZ’ (18k), as well as Apple Music playlists ‘New Music Daily’, ‘Breaking Pop’ and ‘New In Pop’.

In 2024, Bridges was selected for and has been working with Fazerdaze as part of the 2024 APRA Aotearoa Mentorship Programme. She was chosen to perform as part of the 2024 Going Global Music Summit Showcase.

Bridges release ‘Close To You’ in May 2025 as part of her sophomore EP. Supported by NZOA, the track was mastered by Grammy-Award winning engineer Chris Gehringer (Dua Lipa, Harry Styles) with a video made by NZ filmmaker Tom Grut. The single received support from ZM, including a performance on ZM’s Acoustic Corner, as well as RollingStone AU/NZ dubbing the track a Song You Need To Know. Her next single is due in August, with the EP at the end of 2025.

Bridges is the artist project of Ōtautahi Christchurch-born, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland based songwriter Rachel Hamilton (she/her), with the live band consisting of Rāwiri Waters (he/him) on drums (Kāti Māmoe, Ngāi Tahu), Bray Jeffrey (they/them) on keys and guitar, and Sam Nash (he/him) on bass.
